For our European Operations with headquarters in St-Prex we are currently looking for a Director of Epidemiology.
Purpose: The Director of Epidemiology will be based in a Scientific Affairs group, and will work closely with global clients and other functional groups at Outcome by providing scientific leadership for observational research on the natural history of disease and comparative safety and effectiveness of medical treatments, designing methodologically sound studies to meet project objectives and regulatory requirements and conducting and supervising analyses, evaluation and reporting.
Description
SCIENTIFIC
Apply knowledge and experience to complex and/or novel research questions in a way that adds value;
Create concepts and protocols for observational studies of comparative effectiveness and safety, and other outcomes research;
Analyze (or guide the analysis) and write final study reports, abstracts, and manuscript;
Speak at scientific meetings ;
Develop, maintain and manage internal and selected external resource networks.
COLLABORATIVE
Collaborate with colleagues in scientific affairs, business development, project management, data management and other areas to ensure high quality content in study proposals, protocols, analysis plans, study reports, abstracts and publications, and other documents;
Serve as a resource to guide study implementation.
LEADERSHIP
This opportunity requires a self-motivated person who will contribute senior leadership with Scientific Affairs and with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct observational studies of comparative effectiveness and safety;
A doctorate in epidemiology or related field of public health preferred, with a strong track record and at least 10 years in applied epidemiology or health services research; preferable some CRO experience; Analytic skills a plus. Candidates with lesser degrees and significant design and analytic experience will also be considered;
Strong organizational skills, including an ability to handle multiple projects;
Advanced quantitative skills, decision-making and strong communication skills.
