The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), active in the fields of the natural and build environment, economics, innovative technologies, applied art, social work and healthcare, has opened the position of Director of the CIM Institute for Sustainability in Innovation (ICIMSI), based in Manno, with an employment contract between 60% and 100%. Latest start date 1st January 2013.
Description
Leadership of the Institute, in terms of its scientific, administrative and personnel management aspects.
Operational and strategic management of the research and education mandates commissioned to the Institute.
Further development of Swiss and international contact network maintained by the Institute and the Department, strengthening research and didactic activities managed in cooperation with other institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
Coordinating the acquisition of the research projects.
Requirements
Master’s or equivalent academic degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering and Management). PhD Degree and/or previous tenure as professor in a university, polytechnic or university of applied science will be favourably considered.
International background, knowledge of the university system, of European and Swiss innovation and research, with professional experience in an industrial environment.
Wide experience in the field of applied research, in terms of both the acquisition and conduction of Swiss (CTI) and international projects (European Union framework programmes).
Economic-financial skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility.
Communication and relational skills.
Fluency in German and English.
