| Description | | The Toxicological Assessment team provides toxicological expertise to support the growth of Philip Morris International’s marketed tobacco products portfolio, while ensuring compliance with internal toxicological assessment best practices and standards as well as product regulations worldwide. The position includes toxicological acceptability assessments of ingredients, materials, and processes used in the manufacture of our marketed tobacco products, and of new product designs, as well as the preparation of toxicological dossiers for the toxicological data submission to regulatory bodies. Specifically, you will: - Review and analyze internally and externally available toxicological literature and data on ingredients, materials (cigarette, manufacturing, and packaging), processes and product designs, following internal best practices for toxicological assessments, to provide state-of-the-art toxicological acceptability assessments for PMI’s marketed tobacco products
- Plan and monitor toxicological studies needed to acquire accurate data, and evaluate and summarize results for the toxicological acceptability assessment
- Compile and review toxicological dossiers and summary documents for the submission to regulatory bodies, e.g., annual submissions to EU-member countries
- Maintain and further develop toxicological assessment best practices according to both developments in knowledge in the field of hazard assessments of tobacco products or other consumer products, and relevant business needs

| Requirements | | Education: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related discipline, preferably a Ph.D.
Work experience: - A minimum of three to five years of a relevant professional experience in the tobacco, pharmaceutical, consumer or chemical industry
Additional skills and knowledge: - Experience in risk assessment methods and a sound knowledge of current toxicological principles, preferably with an experience of tobacco products
- Experience in project and people management, and in scientific writing is essential
- Computer literacy skills are essential for searches in external and internal databases, updates of internal database, and compilation of data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility to a changing internal and external environment (e.g., new regulations, toxicological principles)
- Analytical skills and ability to cope with challenges
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic and multicultural environment
Fluency in English is a must; spoken French and/or German would be an asset. |
