BeschreibungWorking hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
1. Position overview The role of the Chair of a School is to provide strong academic leadership. The Walker School of Business and Technology encompasses the Departments of Business, Management, and Mathematics and Computer Science. The Chair of the WSBT in Geneva is required to lead, manage and develop the School and ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in teaching, research, and service. All Chairs are required to demonstrate vision, while empowering colleagues in order to implement departmental strategies and goals. This position reports to the Academic Director and as such is expected to be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team including heads of all other departments.
2. Essential duties and responsibilities - Work collaboratively within the WSBT departmental areas and across all Webster University Geneva departments on key institutional and strategic areas, including accreditation processes and enhancement of enrollments. Contribute to and align priorities of WSBT within Webster University Global network. - Manage a School leadership team composed of program directors. Contribute to the curriculum of programs, ensure academic and departmental research quality, and lead faculty recruitment. - Provide leadership of the DBA program (in partnership with the Grenoble School of Management). - Pursue institutional outreach of corporate partners and other organizations in Geneva. - Lead development of departmental faculty, course evaluation, and faculty performance appraisals. - Maintain an individual research agenda resulting in the publication of peer reviewed articles and/or books. - Teach at least four courses per year and mentoring and advising graduate students.

AnforderungenQualifications, skills and experience - Hold a PhD in a Business related program. - Willing to collaborate with the Director, Academic Director, fellow department heads, and colleagues throughout the worldwide Webster network to develop multidisciplinary strategies for cross-cutting initiatives. - Understanding of the requirements and implementation of specialized accreditations. - Fluent in both written and spoken English. French proficiency is desirable. - Five to seven years’ experience in a similar leadership role. - Experience with American and European higher education systems is greatly desirable. - Proven competence in people management and faculty development. - Teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate level in a business school. - Ability to promote and support research among departmental faculty | |
