Beschreibung

1/ Position overview

Webster University Geneva is seeking applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology position and Head of the Psychology and Professional Counseling Department. The position is based at Webster University Geneva, Switzerland. The successful candidate must have demonstrated research excellence through peer-reviewed publications, must possess a good track record in teaching and have a proven ability to manage a team of faculty, academic programs and students. The position calls for someone with in depth knowledge and experience in the field of Psychology and/or Professional Counseling, ability to be innovative and to collaborate effectively with colleagues from Saint Louis and other extended and international campuses. She or he will be asked to interact with the local community and will ultimately be accountable for the success of the programs offered by the department. The M.A. in Counseling fulfils the accreditation standards of SGfB (Swiss Association for Counseling).

2/ Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to provide leadership within the Psychology & Professional Counseling Department and across all Webster University Geneva Departments on key institutional and academic areas. This includes the Swiss accreditation processes and enhancement of enrollments.
  • Manage all aspects of the Psychology and Professional Counseling Department.
  • Lead curriculum development and review, and liaise with the main and other campuses of the Webster network.
  • Lead course planning, research & publications, community services, recruitment and development of departmental faculty; provide course evaluation feedback and monitor progress.
  • Maintain an individual research agenda resulting in the publication of articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and books.
  • Teach four courses per year (Undergraduate and/or Graduate), mentor and advise graduate students.
  • Support student recruitment outreach by working closely with Admissions.
  • Set and monitor annual departmental objectives and manage annual budget.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with professional counselors and alumni through organizing regular talks and events.
  • Participate in the university institutional life (internal / external).

Anforderungen

  • PhD in Psychology and/or Counseling.
  • Experience in academic and clinical psychology and/or therapeutic counseling.
  • Publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
  • A proven ability to deliver excellent teaching.
  • Fluency in English.
