Our research aims at developing submicroscopic biocompatible systems, such as supramolecular constructs, micelles, liposomes, and nanoparticles. Depending on the intended application they are decorated with targeting moieties such as peptides or antibodies. A specificity of our activity is not only to formulate submicroscopic constructs, but also to imagine and conceive complex modalities enabling the activation of constructs by external sources of energy. Research is conducted in fluorescent contrast agents, ultrasound reporters, photodynamic therapy, and magnetic resonance imaging for molecular imaging.
Based on recent observations with novel contrast agents designed in our laboratory, the aim of the project is to further improve these compounds with respect to their systemic delivery. The project consists of the synthesis, in vitro, and in vivo evaluation of novel compounds in collaboration with senior scientists in our laboratory.
PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, or medicinal chemistry, or a related discipline. The candidate will be expected to learn new techniques and develop new avenues of research. The successful candidate should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, peptide synthesis and polymer synthesis. The knowledge in different labeling techniques will be an asset. The ability to conduct independent research and excellent communication skills are essential.
The Postdoctoral student will have a position of part-time assistant He/she will participate to training and teaching for undergraduate students.
