Beschreibung

The Position

You will perform protein biochemistry to provide high quality membrane protein samples for structural and biophysical studies. The key duties as a Laboratory Technician Biochemistry include:

  • Purification of membrane proteins using a variety of chromatographic methods including affinity, ion exchange and size exclusion chromatography.
  • Monitoring of protein quality using analytical methods including fluorescence-size exclusion chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and in-gel fluorescence.
  • Documentation of laboratory work and participation in data analysis.
  • Participation in laboratory organization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Contribution to scientific research on membrane proteins for drug discovery within an experienced team.

Anforderungen

Your profile

You are a highly motivated Laboratory Technician with an open and positive mindset. You share our passion for science and you identify with our values transparancy, integrity and reliability. This position requires the following qualifications and experience:

  • Laboratory Technician EFZ or B.Sc. in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience with protein purification as well as standard protein analytical techniques.
  • Experience with membrane protein biochemistry and Äkta instruments is a plus.
  • Excellent team player with high work ethics.
  • Fluency in English is essential (C1+), German is a plus.
