PhD position between the University of Zurich and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in sustainable mobility, aiming to understand strategies, processes, and skills that enable firms in the digital economy to generate innovations.

The interdisciplinary Institute for Sustainable Development (INE) (?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zhaw.ch%2Fen%2Fengineering%2Finstitutes-centres%2Fine%2F&module=jobs&id=61368" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.zhaw.ch%2Fen%2Fengineering%2Finstitutes-centres%2Fine%2F&module=jobs&id=61368" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.zhaw.ch/en/­engineering/­institutes-centres/ine/) looks at technological, economic, and social developments from a sustainability perspective.

Within the INE, the research group Sustainable Mobility focuses on the topic of the transformation of mobility. Research focuses on new technologies, society, trends such as population growth, digitalisation and individualisation, what innovation potential these changes offer, and to what challenges these lead in the context of sustainable change.

Beschreibung

The position is related to a DIZH Bridge professorship between ZHAW and UZH. You will work on research projects that aim at understanding the strategies, processes, and skills that enable firms in the digital economy to generate innovations systematically and continuously, specifically in the area of mobility and transportation.

As a PhD Student, you will become part of the PhD program offered by the Graduate School of Business at the University of Zurich. You will conduct research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Anja Schulze (University of Zurich) and Prof. Dr. Maike Scherrer (ZHAW).

Anforderungen

We expect the successful applicants to be highly motivated to undertake high-level scientific research and to publish in high-quality academic journals. Furthermore, the preferred candidate has a strong interest in studies on digital innovation management, particularly in the context of mobility.

  • A university graduate degree in Business Administration, Economics or related fields and excellent grades
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills (English required, German is of advantage)
  • Motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team and across institutions
