Die CAS Programme dienen der Vertiefung oder der interdisziplinären Erweiterung der fachlichen Fähigkeiten. Sie richten sich an berufstätige Hochschulabsolventen/innen, die sich beruflich weiterentwickeln oder spezialisieren wollen. Sie umfassen mindestens 10 ECTS-Kreditpunkte und 150 Kontaktstunden und können eine schriftliche Projekt- oder Abschlussarbeit beinhalten. Sie sind in Blockkursen oder wöchentlichen Kurstagen organisiert und dauern zwischen einem und zwei Jahren.

The CAS programme in Computer Science offers a broad selection of courses taught by leading experts in Computer Science. These courses cover foundations as well as cutting-edge developments.

Aufbau und Inhalt

Programmbeschreibung

The programme is a demanding continuing education course for those interested in gaining a deep understanding of current computer science topics and developments. Participants choose from a wide selection of courses on the level of a Master’s programme in Computer Science.

Ziele

Participants receive an in-depth education in the chosen specialisation area. After the successful completion of the course, they are able to analyse and solve complex problems in this area, and to critically evaluate existing solutions.

Berufliche Perspektiven

The course brings participants up to date with the latest developments in an area of Computer Science. It deepens their understanding of relevant problems and solutions, enabling them to work on challenging technical problems and to devise innovative solutions.

Aufbau und Form

The programme is designed as a part-time study programme spanning across 1-2 semesters. Participants attend 4-5 courses in a specialisation area of their choice. They attend classes together with Master’s students, which fosters exchange and collaboration.

Applicants need to fill in the "Personal Studyplan" (available on the programme website) and send it together with the required documents.

Zielpublikum

The CAS is intended for professionals who intend to deepen their technical expertise in Computer Science.

Voraussetzung

Bachelor’s degree acknowledged by ETH in computer science or in a related field, or equivalent educational qualifications.
Graduates of a related field are required to provide proof of sufficient professional experience in Computer Science.
