Programme structure

Programme description

Cyber security is an umbrella term for a wide range of different topics. In this programme we focus on the fundamentals of cyber security from a computer science point of view. The purely technical view of cyber security is complemented with more policy-based views, where implications for the state, the industry, and the private sector are discussed.

The main goal of the CAS is to introduce the fundamentals of modern information security. Attendees of the programme gain a solid basis to understand today’s challenges and problems associated with cyber security.

Professional perspectives

Graduates should understand the complexity associated with many problems in cyber security and thus be well prepared to understand the diversity of aspects necessary to take sustainable and rational decisions to address cyber security related challenges.

Programme structure

The programme comprises of three modules designed specifically for the CAS ETH in Cyber Security. The central module introduces the technical foundations of cyber security, whereas the other two modules focus on concurrent challenges related to cyber security. The technical focus of the programme is complemented with policy-based aspects of cyber security.
