The Swiss Environmental Arena "Umwelt Arena Schweiz" in Spreitenbach was opened in August 2012 and is an exhibition platform for topics of sustainability in the areas of nature and life, energy and mobility, construction and modernization, and renewable energy. Thanks to the combination of the largest, building-integrated photovoltaic system in Switzerland with innovative building technology, the Umwelt Arena produces around 40 percent more energy than it needs for its own operations.
