To achieve effective results, global health leaders need to integrate evidence into their decision-making processes. To do this, they need to apply analytical skills, including science-informed information retrieval and the design and implementation of applied empirical research projects aimed at a specific, contextualised research question. The skills acquired in this course will assist global health practitioners in general and MBA in International Health students in the development of their Master’s thesis in particular. This course aims to enhance participants’ analytical and research skills in global health management. Participants will learn how to analyse health challenges and formulate practice-oriented (research) questions. They’ll be able to evaluate resources, use problem-solving, and choose qualitative and quantitative methods. The training will equip them to design research approaches for evidence-informed decisions, useful in daily tasks and, for MBA participants, in their Master thesis. All who work or aspire to work in the area of international cooperation for public health at all levels. It is of special interest for (future) leaders and managers addressing the need to link strong business management expertise and a sound education in public health. Participants with a first professional qualification (e[.]g. Bachelor degree) have at least 2 years of professional experience and demonstrate sufficient English language skills (TOEFL Paper 550/ TOEFL Computer 213/ TOEFL internet 79 - 80/ IELTS 6.0 or native speaker or completed higher education in English).
