DescriptionWe are looking to make a research faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychology Full-time (40 hours/week), preferred starting date: Spring/Summer 2020 The Assistant Professor of Psychology will be responsible for teaching psychology program courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, maintaining an active research agenda and scholarly profile, as well as participating in departmental and university service activities. The appointee must have a proven background in clinical and/or counselling psychology. The Psychology department has lab facilities and research equipment such as electroencephalography, traditional psychophysiology (skin conductance, heart rate, respiration rate and temperature) as well as startle reflex modulation, facial expression analysis software and a brand new observational lab allowing social interaction investigations of any kind. In addition to traditional scholarly activities (publication, conference participation, service to the field), the successful applicant is also expected to provide key student services, such as student advising and thesis supervision, and pursue research projects aimed at securing external funding and increasing international scholarly cooperation. | |

We offerAs required by Austrian federal law we are obliged to disclose the minimum annual gross compensation for this position, which amounts to 45,000.- EUR (40 hours/week); negotiable on the basis of qualifications and experience. The applicant must have the legal right to work in Austria. Candidates are initially employed on a three-year all-in contract, in which annual performance agreements with the department head orientate the assistant professor’s teaching, research and service goals. After three years and a successful review, the employment relationship is then based on an unlimited contract. | |
