About Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute

Established through a joint venture between Monash University and the Victorian Government, the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) builds on the University’s existing strengths in biomedical research. It supports the critical infrastructure required to deliver the next generation of discoveries in regenerative medicine.

ARMI is located at one of the world’s largest regenerative medicine and stem cell research centres, at the Clayton Campus. Its scientists are focused on unravelling the basic mechanisms of regenerative processes, enabling doctors to prevent, halt and reverse damage to vital organs due to disease, injury, or genetic conditions.

The VHH will enable world-class research and education in addition to specialised clinical care with key features including an expanded medical and cardiovascular health research program that builds upon the current activities of Monash University and the Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre.

Description

The successful applicant will have access to the state-of-the-art clinical and basic science research facilities within the VHH and have significant opportunities to shape the research environment of the hospital precinct as it emerges.

An increasing focus on translational research is integral to ARMI’s research mission. Individuals with a demonstrable ability to integrate clinical and basic science elements into a successful translational research program will be highly sought after. The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen ARMI’s and Monash’s profile and research networks, both from an internal and external perspective, engaging with the wider cardiovascular research community, locally, nationally and internationally.

The successful applicant will have subsidised access to state-of-the-art technological core facilities within the University, which include but are not restricted to flow cytometry, advanced molecular preclinical and clinical imaging facilities, light-based micro-imaging and state-of-the-art animal facilities.

We welcome applications in all areas of Cardiac and Vascular Biology and disease, but we are particularly interested in those researchers focused on regeneration and stem cell biology or tissue engineering as applied to cardiovascular diseases.

Remuneration

Market competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidates, including highly attractive salary packaging options.

Contract Term: The appointment will be a five-year fixed-term appointment. At the expiry of the five-year term, the University has the discretion to offer further employment subject to the University’s operational requirements and approvals.

Commencement Date: Anticipated commencement is in early 2023 or as otherwise agreed.
