How does it feel to fly like a bird? What happens when our heart skips a beat? The varied new program of the Children’s University begins in the Fall Semester 2018.

The Children’s University of Zurich has another fun-packed semester on offer for schoolchildren in 3rd to 6th grade.

The series of four lectures take place on Wednesday afternoons. In the first lecture, the kids will get a demonstration of how the pancreas works. In the second lecture, they will find out why computer algorithms are so smart. The heart is the subject of the third lecture, specifically what happens if the heartbeat is irregular. The final lecture of the series examines the enduring dream of humans everywhere: To be able to fly.

Eight workshops on different topics

In addition to the lectures, there are eight workshops to choose from. The workshops take a deeper look at specific topics, which include how the kidneys work, why mosquitoes bite, optical illusions, the chemistry of light and color, and how electricity is generated.

The events are free and are aimed at children from 3rd to 6th grade. Participation is open to all irrespective of school performance.

Fall Semester 2018 Program

The registration form for the lecture series can be downloaded from the Children’s University website from 31 August 2018.

Registration for the workshops is open from 31 August to 10 September 2018. Please note: Each individual workshop must be registered for separately.
