Since the founding of Swiss TPH in 1943, education and training has been a cornerstone of our activities. Our diverse community of graduates works around the globe in research institutions, governments, multilateral organisations, NGOs and the private sector, driving change and improving the health and well-being of people. To further strengthen the connection with our alumni, Swiss TPH today officially launches an alumni network, the Swiss TPH AlumNet.
Education and training has been a cornerstone of Swiss TPH since our foundation in 1943. Swiss TPH graduates, be it former students, research fellows or postgraduate course participants, work around the world, forming a global community of researchers, experts and leaders for sustainable change in public and global health.
Today, Swiss TPH officially launches an alumni network - the Swiss TPH AlumNet. The aim of the network is to strengthen the links with its graduates and bring together alumni from Swiss TPH’s master’s, PhD and postgraduate programmes.

"Our alumni are not only well trained and respected experts in their respective fields, they are also some of the most important ambassadors for Swiss TPH," said Jürg Utzinger, Director of Swiss TPH. "The Swiss TPH AlumNet further strengthens ties with our alumni community and enables them to meet and interact regularly to further nurture and expand their own networks."
Over the past 25 years, some 3,000 students from more than 80 countries graduated from Swiss TPH. Many of them now hold prominent positions in research institutions, governments, multilateral organisations, NGOs and the private sector. They shape policy and implement health system change as leaders at global, national and local levels.
Lifelong connections and lifelong learning
The Swiss TPH AlumNet aims to foster connections between alumni and Swiss TPH as well as with current students. The AlumNet provides exchange across countries and disciplines, insights into the field of management and health, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
"Through our planned activities, such as regular events and the Swiss TPH AlumNet LinkedIn group, there will be ample opportunity to network and share experiences," said Julia Bohlius, Head of the Department of Education and Training. "Insights from experts and Swiss TPH alumni will enrich the discussions and be valuable in promoting mutual learning for sustainable change."
Education at Swiss TPH
Swiss TPH provides a unique learning experience in a broad range of topics, including international health, epidemiology, public health, infection biology, clinical practice, and management. Swiss TPH offers bachelor’s and master’s programmes, as well as PhD programmes in association with the University of Basel, the oldest university in Switzerland. At the postgraduate level, a range of short courses, professional certificates (CAS), diplomas (DAS) and master’s (MAS) programmes can be completed.
