A total of 79 students have successfully completed their Bachelor’s degree in the Department of Social Work at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Three graduates can look forward to receiving their Master’s diploma.
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts congratulated the 82 graduates on their successful degrees at the graduation ceremony at the Swiss Museum of Transport on Friday, February 16, 2024. Of the 79 Bachelor’s graduates, 38 chose to specialize in social work. 20 chose to specialize in social pedagogy and 21 in socioculture. A further three graduates received their Master’s degree.
Social work forms the umbrella for various professions in the social sector. After completing their Bachelor’s degree, graduates are trained social workers, social educators or socio-cultural animators and take on important tasks in the professional world. For example, they will work in social services, advice centers, in child and adult protection, in socio-educational institutions, in schools or in neighborhood and cultural meeting places with children, young people, adults and older people. The Master’s degree program builds on this knowledge and also teaches political, economic and social aspects of social work.
