Associate Professor in the field Methodological Methods for Computational Diplomacy at 100%


The overall aim of this position is to develop and implement new computational approaches relevant to the field of diplomacy and related domains. This position is strongly connected with another position, in complex system approach to governance design, that opens concomitantly. The two candidates shall be complementary in their approach and function as a pair in the collaboration, the former mainly in computational methodology and the latter mainly on the application of these methods to governance design, conflict resolution and diplomacy. This is a full charge position with courses at the bachelor, master and post-graduate levels. The person in this new position must be able to teach the basic subjects of computer science, as well as specialized courses in relation with the position, namely data science, complex systems, artificial intelligence, as well as various modeling and simulation techniques. The successful candidate will develop cutting-edge research in the above-mentioned fields and contribute to build the domain of computational diplomacy.


  • Doctorate of Science or equivalent title.
  • University teaching experience is required and publications in reputed international journals and an experience in the development and direction of international interdisciplinary research collaborations between natural and social science.
  • The candidate who applies for this offer should already master English and be dedicated to learn French in order to be able to teach bachelor students.
  • He/she will have a solid knowledge of high-performance computing and GPUs, be dynamic, open to multidisciplinary collaborations and able tohave a rigorous theoretical approach and the ability to solve practical problems.
  • Experience with the analysis or modeling of social systems highly is desirable.
  • Candidate(s) must demonstrate their academic excellence at the national and international level, as well as the influence of their work.
