Part of the AVO Group, ADAM (Applications of Detector and Accelerators to Medicine) is a research company, inspired by CERN, working on R&D and production of accelerators for medical applications. ADAM is head-quartered in Geneva; its offices and laboratories are based at CERN. ADAM is involved in a hadron-therapy project to build a proton accelerator from 7 to 230 MeV. DescriptionThe successful candidate has experience in analog and digital circuit design, frequency synthesis, waveform generation, frequency translation, digital signal processing, modelling and simulation for RF applications. His major role will be the development of the LLRF system for feedback controls (frequency, amplitude and phase) and synchronization of different accelerating units composing the proton linear accelerator. Work in radiation controlled area is foreseen.
Sp ecific Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): • Maintain and upgrade the existing LLRF systems used for the LIGHT machine • Develop system requirements, specifications, and design simulations and prototypes. • Oversee the fabrication, commissioning and documentation of LLRF systems • Work in conjunction with physicists and engineers to continually improve performance of the LIGHT accelerator • Interface with and direct the work of designers and technicians • Responsible for engineering design, installation and fabrication of subsystems | |
