Part of the AVO Group, ADAM (Applications of Detector and Accelerators to Medicine) is a research company, inspired by CERN, working on R&D and production of accelerators for medical applications. ADAM is head-quartered in Geneva; its offices and laboratories are based at CERN. ADAM is involved in a hadron-therapy project to build a proton accelerator from 7 to 230 MeV. To contribute to the installation activities in the laboratory:-

  • Assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures.
  • Handle and move of heavy material
  • Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate supports, housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Inspect received material in order to ensure conformance to orders and compile the required documentation
  • Organization of the storage space and of the stored material
  • Maintain up-to-date the material electronic inventory


    • Diploma BAC pro electromecanique (FR) or CFC de electromecanicien (CH) or equivalent certificate of competency
    • Excellent spoken and written knowledge of French
    • Ability to understand and speak English in professional contexts.

Following additional skills might be advantageous

  • Previous experience with installation of complex system
  • Familiarity with RF and/or vacuum equipment
