Hilti Chair for Data and Application Security
at the rank of full professor
The chair is an endowed chair located at the Institute of Information Systems. While the chair will benefit from its relations to Hilti as a leading global company (see: ?url=www.hilti.com&module=jobs&id=37172" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.hilti.com) the chair will be independent in all its activities.
The chair will have the opportunity to build a world-class research group focusing on data and application security in one of the most livable and beautiful areas of Europe. Liechtenstein is a prosperous highly entrepreneurial economic area in the heart of Europe. The dynamic alpine micro state is home to people from over 100 nationalities, and the country has one of the highest gross domestic products per capita worldwide. The Institute of Information Systems is home to more than 30 information systems researchers, including six professors and renowned international visiting staff. Members of the institute have published in international top journals including European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Journal of the Association for Information Systems , Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Management Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, and MIT Sloan Management Review, and they have been awarded numerous international awards recognizing achievements in research, education, and transfer (see: www.uni.li/is ).
The chair will make important contributions to foster cyber security as a foundation for digital innovation and transformation, and will collaborate closely with the other research groups at the department, such as Business Process Management, Technology and Innovation, and Data Science. The chair will also collaborate with neighboring disciplines at the university, such as law, finance, and entrepreneurship, and it will establish strong relations to leading scholars and practitioners in the rea of cyber security around the world. The chair will be responsible for developing and leading a major in Data and Application Security as part of our information systems master’s program and is expected to conduct high quality research and publish in internationally renowned academic journals. The chair will further be expected to develop strong ties to the regional industry through intensive knowledge transfer, and to develop a strong portfolio of executive education in data and application security.
