Photolithography Engineer

The Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is looking for a photolithography engineer, for its Center of MicroNanoTechnology (CMi).

The candidate, graduated in engineering (EPF, HES, or similar), will demonstrate the necessary theoretical knowledge in the field of micro-fabrication in controlled clean-room environment: photolithography, etching processes, thin films deposition, and metrology. A previous industrial and/or academic experience of the specific processes and equipment of photolithography (photoresist coating, exposition and development) will be an asset.

As a photolithography engineer, he(she) will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • the “up-time” of the photolithography equipment: startup, exploitation, and preventive maintenance,
  • the practical teaching of CMi users on photolithography processes and equipment,
  • the documentation of processes and equipment to the attention of users,
  • the support and consulting for users in order to ensure the success of their research,
  • the statistical control of the stability of standard processes,
  • the development of new processes for users projects,
  • the implementation of specific projects in order to strengthen the offer of photolithography techniques available to users
  • the acquisition (call for tender, evaluation, installation) of new equipment,
  • the administration tied to photolithography processes and equipment.

Much of the activity takes place in an ISO 5 cleanroom environment, which is dedicated to research in a multi-user and multi-disciplinary approach. The person in the role will work within a team of professionals in direct contact with researchers, including PhD candidates, scientific staff, and industrial users. The person will be trained and also provide support to other processes within the cleanroom.

We are looking for an organized, rigorous and precise person who communicates fluently in oral and written English, and in French if possible.
