Polyneuron is a growing Basel-based biotechnology company active in the area of autoimmune disease treatments. Building on excellent expertise in carbohydrate-based drug discovery and clinical neurology, the company is developing novel treatments to combat neurological autoimmune disorders using its Antibody-Catch™ technology platform. The first program will enter clinical phase next year.

Description

The candidate should hold a Ph.D. from a recognized institution in the field of immunology with advanced experience in standard methodology used in immunology, molecular biology, and laboratory animal science. Sound know-how in immunological mechanisms related to lymphoid immune cells (especially B and T cells) and autoantibodies are preferred. Demonstrated working experience in an industrial biomedical research setting is an important prerequisite.

As a Scientist your responsibilities will be to:

  • Work in a team focusing on one of Polyneuron’s research projects
  • Plan, perform and analyze experiments under the guidance of the CSO
  • Supervise a lab technician and students
  • Provide solutions for technical and scientific problems
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Present results at internal research meetings

Requirements

You are an efficient and enthusiastic multi-cultural team player with:

  • Minimum of two years of industrial experience
  • Solid knowledge of the major wet lab techniques including ELISA, western blot, and different imaging techniques (incl. confocal microscopy)
  • Experience in the generation and working with animal models, primarily mouse/rat models for (auto)immune disorders, experience with genetically-modified lines
  • Experience in working with primary human material and cell lines
  • Clinically-oriented translational research expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
