Our Mediation Support Team supports efforts to mediate and transform violent political conflicts by conducting research, providing training and directly supporting those engaged in peace and conflict transformation processes. We are seeking for someone to work on the program entitled "Culture and Religion in Mediation" (CARIM), which is conducted in partnership with the "Religion, Politics, Conflict" sector of activity of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

Tasks involve knowledge management and applied research related to transforming conflicts with religious dimensions as well as accompanying ongoing conflict transformation processes analytically and in direct contact with some of the involved actors. You will also be involved in organizing training workshops for future mediators and peace practitioners or for parties in a conflict context (e.g. ?url=www.rmc.ethz.ch&module=jobs&id=43310" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.rmc.ethz.ch ), as well as carrying out administrative tasks related to the CARIM program.

The successful candidate will have a relevant MA degree and a minimum of five years of work experience related to mediation or conflict transformation. She or he is a curious, cooperative, independent, and stress resistant personality with strong analytical and interpersonal skills. She or he has expertise relevant to peace mediation and ideally a background in religious studies, sociology of religion, or similar. Experience in working on conflicts with religious dimensions is an asset. Excellent English and working knowledge of French or German is required. Experience of living and working in a context affected by conflicts is an advantage. Computer skills and the willingness to travel is also highly desirable.
