Postdoctoral Researcher in Simulation Neuroscience (W/M)

The EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), situated on the Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland, applies advanced neuroinformatics, data analytics, high-performance computing and simulation-based approaches to the challenge of understanding the structure and function of the mammalian brain in health and disease. The BBP provides the community with regular releases of data, models and tools to accelerate neuroscience discovery and clinical translation through open science and global collaboration.

For our Connectomics team, we are currently seeking a: Postdoctoral Researcher in Simulation Neuroscience (W/M).

Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Research and development of computational-, analytical- and simulation-based approaches to characterize the computational capacity of the detailed cortical microcircuit model and how it relates to the structure of synaptic connectivity
  • Carry out programming in this area of the project and contribute to the development of computational tools and programs for simulation and analysis
  • Participation in the writing of articles and of other documents related to the research activities
  • Representation of the work and general Blue Brain work at conferences and seminars in the form of talks, poster presentations or otherwise

Your profile :
  • PhD in Neuroscience or related field
  • Publication record in the field, ideally related to Cortical Circuits, Connectivity & Activity
  • Strong expertise in programming, especially Python
  • Ideally experience with supercomputing systems
  • Strong background in data analysis and statistics
