The Soldati-Favre and Brochet groups within the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Geneva are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to investigate calcium homeostasis in Toxoplasma and Plasmodium parasites.

Description

Our laboratories are interested in understanding how calcium pathways are regulated to control critical events responsible for the pathogenicity of these parasites. To address our aims, we combine a wide panel of approaches including experimental genetics, chemical biology, biochemistry, live-imaging, quantitative proteomics, and cryo-EM. We offer excellent support, access to state-of-the art facilities and an interactive and collaborative research environment. Requirements

Required qualifications for PhD candidates

  • Significant research experience in cell biology or in structural biology.

  • Experience in leading research projects and supervising graduate/undergraduate students.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent organization and record keeping skills.

  • Very good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.



    Additionally required qualifications for postdoctoral candidates

  • Ph.D. in Biology.

  • Significant research experience in Toxoplasma or Plasmodium biology or in structural biology.

  • Strong publication record as first author in peer-reviewed journals.
