The position

leadXpro is urgently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Laboratory Specialist who will be part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists working on leadXpro proprietary and partnered projects, within a highly collaborative international environment. You will have technical expertise in membrane protein and nanobodies expression and purification.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Key duties include:

• Performing scientific research in the field of membrane proteins
• Maintaining cultures of insect and mammalian cells and generation of baculoviruses
• Screening of expression conditions using fluorescence-based techniques and Western blot
• Optimization and upscaling of recombinant protein expression
• Purification of membrane proteins using chromatography methods (affinity, ion exchange and size exclusion chromatography)
• Monitoring of protein quality and purity using fluorescence-size exclusion chromatography and SDS-PAGE
• Maintenance of laboratory records and participation in data analysis
• Taking part in laboratory organization and maintenance of supplies and equipment

Your qualifications

You should preferably have a Master of Science in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology or a related discipline. Hands-on experience with membrane protein expression, purification as well as standard protein analytical techniques is expected. A track record of successful work on membrane proteins and nanobodies is of advantage. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English is essential.
