100%, Zurich, fixed-term The Computer-Assisted Drug Design group of Prof. Gisbert Schneider at ETH Zürich is seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral position in Applied AI for Drug design. Job descriptionThe group of Computer-Assisted Drug Design (CADD) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow in artificial intelligence (AI)-supported drug design. The candidate should have excellent expertise in chemoinformatics and should be versed in advanced AI methods such as deep neural networks and generative models. The task is to develop and apply innovative methods for prospective anti-infective drug discovery, as a member of an international research team. We offer an interdisciplinary working environment. State-of-the-art computational resources are available. The project offers and requires strong interactions with the research of the CADD group and our extramural partners, and the willingness to work as a member of a team. Candidates should be highly motivated, self-organized, creative, display initiative, and used to thinking sideways. Excellent command of the English language is expected. The willingness to assist in the supervision of PhD candidates as well as in teaching is expected. The candidate should be able to perform research and act as a supervisor in a work-from-home setting. Your profileThe successful candidate should have a track record in chemoinformatics and applied machine learning. Strong programming skills are required. A solid understanding of chemical structures and drug discovery is mandatory. While the position is theoretically oriented, the successful candidate should be able to understand the meaning of a multitude of experimental data types. Finding the appropriate representation of chemical and biological data, dealing with experimental error, and multi-parameter optimization are part of the challenge in drug design. Experience with Linux based GPU system is required to maintain and operate local computational resources. ETH Zurich
