Your mission :

You will be expected to develop quantitative research on African cities as part of a team. You will need to be able to model urban forms and handle large amounts of data,

Main duties and responsibilities include :
You will conduct your own research project as well as be part of a research team and collaborate with partners. Specific responsibilities are:

  • Develop quantitative research on African Cities
  • Contribute to the knowledge and spatial analysis of African cities
  • Use existing databases and develop methods to acquire new data sets
  • Programme and implement spatial analyses methods
  • Perform minor teaching duties
  • Contribute to conferences and publications


Your profile :
  • A PhD in spatial planning, environmental engineering, transport, data science, computer science or related disciplines with strong quantitative background
  • Strong experience in GIS methods
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. R, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Demonstrable track record of research in planning in African Cities or related disciplines
  • Ability to speak and write effectively in English and in French
  • Strong team skills
