Your mission :
The lab of biomedical microfluidics (LBMM ; ?url=www.epfl.ch%2Flabs%2Flbmm%2F&module=jobs&id=52383" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.epfl.ch/labs/lbmm/ ) is looking for a postdoc with a background in biology or biomedical sciences and significant expertise in the preparation of next generation sequencing libraries. We have developed an in vitro diagnostics platform enabling to identify the most potent therapy options directly on tumor samples from human patients ( ?url=www.besttherapyforme.com&module=jobs&id=52383" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.besttherapyforme.com ; Eduati et al., Nature Communications 2018) and now recently integrated transcriptomic readouts. As the next step, we are now initiating clinical trials and the establishment of a startup company, making this technology available to the public. The position will be funded for 18 months in the context of an Innosuisse grant, with the general possibility of transitioning permanently into the startup afterwards.

The successful candidate will closely interact with other members of the LBMM, sequencing facilities and tech developers.

Main duties and responsibilities include :

  • Screening of samples from human cancer patients
  • Development of novel assays and NGS work flows
  • Data analysis


Your profile :
  • PhD in cancer biology, biotechnology or related fields
  • Hands-on experience in the generation of NGS libraries
  • Very good publication record in international high impact journals
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly motivated and keen to work in an interdisciplinary environment
