Associate Professor in the field of Computational Diplomacy and Complex System Approach to Governance Design at 100%

Description

The overall aim of this position is to develop and implement new computational and complex systems approaches to diplomacy and governance design. This position is strongly connected with another position, in methodological methods for computational diplomacy that opens concomitantly. The two candidates shall be complementary in their approach and function as a pair in the collaboration, the former mainly on the application of methods to governance design, conflict resolution and diplomacy, and the latter in computational methodology related to the field of diplomacy. This is a full charge position with courses at the bachelor, master and post-graduate levels. The person in this new position must be able to teach the basic subjects and specialized courses in relation with the position. The candidate is expected to implement a comprehensive research agenda on computational diplomacy from a complexity lens and translates this agenda into articles of the highest scientific quality, value and impact. The candidate should be able to operationalize sound conceptual and theoretical approaches in the study of global governance into measurements combining different data sources from large dataset.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in the field of global studies or equivalent title.
  • University teaching experience is required, as well as publications in high-ranked international journals and an experience in the development and direction of international interdisciplinary research collaborations between natural and social science.
  • The candidate who applies for this offer should already master English and be dedicated to learnFrench in order to be able to teach bachelor students.
  • He/she will have relevant expertise in studying international relations from a complexity perspective (e.g., multi-layered network, regime complex theory, resilience, multilevel or intersectoral governance). Candidate(s) must demonstrate their academic excellence at the national and international level, as well as the influence of their work.
