CUTISS AG, a biotech company spin-off of the University of Zurich (UZH), focuses on the development of personalized bioengineered skin graft products for the treatment of skin defects. Its lead product denovoSkin™ has successfully completed Phase I in pediatric patients. Clinical Phase II studies are underway in Europe and Switzerland.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Affairs Manager who will develop a Medical Affairs platform to be utilized globally. This is an outstanding opportunity to serve as a driving force in building CUTISS’ medical affairs presence and success, and one that will provide broad leadership challenge, accountability, and impact.
The Medical Affairs Manager will actively participate in strategic planning, ongoing and new development projects, existing and future corporate alliances, and partnering discussions.
Description of responsibilities
Lead the medical affairs function to plan, coordinate and execute commercial launches (incl. Phase III design).
Develop and implement Medical Communication and Disease State Awareness strategies.
Reach out to KOLs to gather information on therapeutic area issues and questions.
Collaborate with the Clinical Team for the development of education material for surgeons and patients that is medically accurate and appropriate.
Collaborate with the Clinical Team for the training of surgeons.
Conduct competitive intelligence.
Provide direction and input into the development and implementation of successful reimbursement and market-access strategies.
Work closely with the senior management team, to develop the overall strategic direction for CUTISS; evaluate alternative strategies, identify competitive issues, capitalize on core strengths, and develop and implement operating plans to achieve objectives for profitable growth.
Support in preparing and representing CUTISS in the context of clinical activities, conferences, presentations, industry, and investment groups.
Required Experience and Skills
A medical degree in surgery or dermatology.
A strong biopharmaceutical background with experience working in a high achievement medical affairs group, ideally in the ATMP/surgery/dermatology space though not essential.
Minimum 5 years of experience in early and late-stage development and interphase with commercialization of drug or biological products with experience in Medical Affairs.
A broad understanding of GCP and regulatory requirements.
A minimum of three years of management experience.
Ability to lead by example, build interdependent partnerships and create a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Extensive experience in drug development, commercialization of drugs and direct interaction with the EMA and FDA is highly desirable.
Able to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously.
A visionary business leader, who can help chart the course and evaluate development and commercial options for CUTISS.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, as well as the proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines.
Proven ability to develop internal relationships in a highly matrix environment, as well as external relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and industry experts.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels and present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Desired Skills and Experience
German, Italian, Dutch and French are a plus.
Experience in Skin Surgery is a plus.
