Euresearch is a non-profit association with offices in all the Swiss regions and a Network Office in Bern. Its mission is to inform and advise Swiss applicants on the European Research & Innovation Programme Horizon Europe (HE), and on related European Programmes. Euresearch is funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.

Description

In this role, you

  • lead and support the National Contact Points (NCPs) in your section with regard to their daily work as well as to any questions regarding their employment at Euresearch
  • are responsible that the tasks and objectives of your section and of its individual members are achieved with regard to the required quality and timing
  • are responsible for the sound financial management of any related resources
  • cooperate closely with the other section leaders and the co-directors.

As a section leader you will also join the Euresearch Management Board (MB). As a member of the MB you will

  • act as intermediary between your section and the MB, i.e. implement any MB decisions in your section and bring any relevant information or needs of your section members to the MB’s attention
  • with the other MB members support the co-directors in fulfilling the tasks and objectives of the Euresearch Network
  • represent the Euresearch Network to external stakeholders .

The workload related to the section lead and the work for the Management Board is approximately 40%.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also act as an NCP (25-35%). Expertise and research experience in thematic domain of IT technologies, engineering or similar are an advantage. Experience in the private sector is a plus.

Requirements

To be a suitable candidate, you are a pro-active leader with strong social and communicative skills as well as a certain experience in managing a team of 6 – 8 people. You are familiar with the implications of the HE programmes, in particular with collaborative projects. You think conceptually, are interested in organisational and strategic planning, and not afraid of making or implementing tough decisions. Project and business management experience are an asset.

For your NCP activities, we expect a PhD and a sound knowledge of the Swiss research landscape.
