Portfolio and Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role Purpose:

• Act as a portfolio manager for the effective coordination and efficient delivery of the Stein capital investment portfolio, as a key enabler of the Crop Protection R&D Strategy.
• Planning, managing, and controlling the strategic renewal and expansion planning of the site optimising the technical multi-year planning of construction projects.
• Support preparation of preliminary studies and commissioning the subsequent project phases.
• Directly manage diverse projects linked to site master planning activities, infrastructure priorities to enable functional delivery, and the wider change agenda.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for continually tracking project and program budget vs. spend, latest status and forecasts to ensure the broader investment portfolio is delivered on time and on budget.
• Support the continual evolution of the capital portfolio and changes to project prioritisation, that ensures thorough technical and business project review and selection.
• Support the optimisation of individual projects by shaping the project not only according to customer needs, but the wider needs of the site and business.
• Actively support project delivery teams to resolve issues, remove blockers and facilitate delivery, including routine engagement with CBRE.
• Partner with FM to ensure we continue to have adequate resources and capabilities to service the outsourced delivery model via CBRE for typically low value, low complexity Infrastructure and Workplace related projects.
• Act as a Project Manager for diverse planned and sometimes reactive projects related to site master planning, and initiatives which further the Crop Protection or functional strategies.
• Provide technical expertise associated with the infrastructure projects on site and act as contact and project owner for external providers.

Requirements:

• BSc with several years of related working experience, or MSc Degree in Engineering or Science
• Strong project or program management background; project management certification/qualifications desired
• Strong understanding of project delivery requirements, incl. scope/time/cost/risk management
• Knowledge of capital investment processes and associated financial treatment and reporting
• Understanding of the operation of an agricultural, pharmaceutical, or similar research facility
• Experience of leading and influencing high performing teams
• Fully proficient in using Microsoft Tools
• Excellent organisational and strong data analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability in working to tight and changing timelines
• Demonstrated ability in planning, tracking, and delivering own work
• Ability to work without supervision, and result and action orientated
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels and disciplines within the workforce and management team
• Fluent in English and German (written & spoken)
