Senior Lecturer (MER1) in Socioeconomics of sport and leisure
Description
Teaching (45%)
Six hours a week of teaching throughout the year, in French and English, at Bachelor and Master level. Additionally, supervision of Master dissertations.
Research (45%)
The person recruited will pursue their own research in connection with socioeconomic and management issues in sport and leisure, particularly in Switzerland. An interest in sustainability and/or digitalisation in sports management would be an advantage.
High-quality academic publications are expected.
The person recruited will participate in the Institute of Sports Sciences (ISSUL).
They will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Administrative duties (10%)
In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the person recruited will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty or university-level decision-making bodies.
Requirements
PhD in sports sciences, management, social sciences, political science or equivalent;
Previous academic teaching experience;
Proven record of research in the socioeconomics of sport and leisure, including management issues faced by public and private actors in the sports and leisure sector, particularly in Switzerland;
Ability to work closely with colleagues from other social science disciplines (e.g. history, sociology and psychology);
Good links with international networks;
Excellent knowledge of French; good writing and speaking abilities in English.
