Associate Professor in Intervention in physical education and sport

Description

In your functions, you will have to :

Teaching (45%)

Six hours a week of teaching throughout the year, at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Additionally supervision of Master’s dissertations and PhD theses.

Research (45%)

The person recruited will pursue their own research in the field of educational interventions and/or socialisation through physical education and sport in school and community settings, with a focus on integration and equality.

They will contribute to the Institute of Sports Sciences at the University of Lausanne (ISSUL), participate in the academic activities of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (SSP) in the field of education (Education and Training Observatory – OBSEF) and work in collaboration with the Haute École Pédagogique in Vaud canton.

It is expected that the person recruited will be affiliated to one of the Faculty’s research centres.

They will be expected to produce high-quality academic publications.

They will also seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Administrative responsibilities (10%)

In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.

Requirements

In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :

  • PhD in sports studies or equivalent;
  • Academic teaching experience;
  • Proven research record in the field of physical education and sports interventions in school, institutional and community settings (e.g., inclusion through sport; anti-discrimination in relation to disability, origin, gender, etc.);
  • Excellent links with international networks;
  • Experience in physical education and sport interventions;

With a view to strengthening links with the Hautes Écoles Pédagogiques (HEP – teacher training colleges in Switzerland) and Institut Universitaire de la Formation des Enseignants (IUFE – University Institute of Teacher Education in France), knowledge of didactics and the school environment would be an advantage.
