The Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE) research consortium located at the Medicine Campus Davos, Switzerland is hiring a highly motivated

Junior Research Group Leader

CK-CARE comprises five clinical and basic research facilities in Switzerland and Germany with the main focus on Allergology and Dermatology. The Medicine Campus Davos integrates medical care (with Hochgebirgsklinik Davos), clinical and basic research in one place. Patients can profit from individually adapted rehabilitative care, acute diagnostics, preventive medicine and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to expand CK-CAREs translational research activities on the Medicine Campus Davos. The successful candidate will focus on the epigenetic, genetic, and immune mechanisms of atopic dermatitis and epigenetic-based diagnostics and therapies in immune disorders.

Description

Job Description – in this role you

  • establish and lead your own research junior group
  • define your own research topic within the framework of CK-CARE
  • have access to samples and data from the CK-CARE biobank, containing over 2400 AD patients and controls
  • are successfully competing for external research grants
  • will collaborate in projects with doctors from the clinic as well as partners of CK-CARE’s consortium

Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • You have a PhD and/or MD with several years of research experience in the field of Immunology, Dermatology, Allergology or related fields
  • You are highly interested and motivated to perform research with a strong translational aspect
  • You are experienced in working with human samples and sample processing
  • You have knowledge in the standard research methods, expertise in cutting edge technologies is a plus
  • You are interested and willing to pro-actively integrate in an international research consortium located at different places in Switzerland and Germany
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and you are a great team player
  • You are proficient in English, German language skills are an advantage
  • You are experienced in combining multiple levels of different omics (multi-omics) and the integration of molecular and clinical data
