DescriptionThe Department of Applied Physics is opening a position of associate or tenure-track assistant professor in Physics. This is a full - time position. Duties include teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, the supervision of masters’ and doctoral theses as well as organisational and administrative tasks at the level of the Department and the Physics Section.
The successful candidate will develop a research program at the highest international level and secure externalfunding in the area of quantum technologies for quantum sensing and quantum communications. A research activity in one (or more) of the following directions is desired: single-photon detection, quantum imaging, technologies for quantum communications and networking such as quantum cryptography, quantum random number generation and optical-microwave transduction. Collaborations with existing groups at the Department are strongly encouraged. In parallel to scientific excellence, the candidate will also have to demonstrate skills for managing a research group, pedagogical skills for teaching and knowledge transfer to the students and younger researchers. | |
