Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPF) is an affiliate of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation. The mission of SPF is sustainably improving the situation of people with spinal cord injury (SCI) through clinical and interdisciplinary research on a national and international level. Specific areas of its comprehensive research include functioning, movement and mobility, social integration, equality of opportunity, self-determination, quality of life, health services provision as well as morbidity and mortality. SPF is an extra-university research institution recognized and promoted by the Swiss federal government and the cantons and an active link to academic and industrial research and development at the national and international levels. The Life Course Epidemiology Group at SPF provides longitudinal and life course epidemiological inference about SCI in Switzerland to various stakeholders, including service providers and policy makers, mainly using real-world evidence from the Swiss Spinal Cord Injury Cohort Study (SwiSCI). The Work and Integration group promotes research on return to work and labour market participation that informs vocational integration practice and policy for persons living with SCI and other health conditions. Within the research project "Work Life Course", funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), we are currently seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow in Epidemiology (80-100%) | |
DescriptionThe successful candidate will direct and contribute to interdisciplinary, applied research that evaluates trajectories and key transitions of the work-life course of persons with SCI using contemporary methods from life course epidemiology. Using a broad set of personal and job-related characteristics, also data on re-education and work integration measures, this research is expected to support the development of individualized guidelines for supporting sustainable labour market participation.
