The Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE) research consortium located at the Medicine Campus Davos, Switzerland is hiring a highly motivated

Research Technician (80-100%)

CK-CARE comprises five clinical and basic research facilities in Switzerland and Germany with the main focus on Allergology and Dermatology. The Medicine Campus Davos integrates medical care (with Hochgebirgsklinik Davos), translational and basic research in one place. Patients can profit from individually adapted rehabilitative care, acute diagnostics, prevention medicine and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to expand CK-CAREs translational research activities on the Medicine Campus Davos.

Description

Job Description – in this role you

  • support research groups in all of the above-mentioned technologies
  • work partially in a Biobank, where you prepare biological samples and organise storage
  • conduct measurements of biomarkers as a service for members of the Medicine Campus Davos
  • monitor and document laboratory processes and equipment
  • are responsible for the organisation and ordering of laboratory materials
  • actively participate in the maintenance of the QM system

Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • You are qualified BTA or MTA (biological/medical technical assistant), ideally with a supplementary diploma from an university of applied sciences (Bioengineering/Biotechnology).
  • Or you have a degree in Life Sciences (BSc or MSc) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • You have experience in at least three of the following techniques: FACS, Histology, Microscopy, isolation of nucleic acids and qPCR, ELISA, DNA and Protein gel electrophoresis, eukaryotic cell transfection and culture, cell purification
  • You are experienced or highly motivated in working with human samples and sample processing according to SOPs
  • You are interested and willing to learn and develop additional skills and methods
  • You have good knowledge of standard software packages
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, and you are a great team player
  • You are proficient in English, German language skills are an advantage
