Postdoc - ’Costs of Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Measures in the Swiss Agricultural Sector’

Since 1990, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the agricultural sector have been reduced by 13%, and currently account for 14% of total emissions. For the implementation of further measures, the systematic evaluation of the economic dimension of GHG mitigation measures is an urgent necessity. In addition, costs for CO2 uptake via soils or agroforestry (carbon sequestration) should be included. This project will use various modelling systems to calculate GHG mitigation pathways for methane, nitrous oxide and CO2 as well as associated mitigation costs for the entire agricultural sector. The results will be included in an ETH domain cross-sectoral project (SCENE).
