At the Montanuniversität, the position of a university professor at the Department of Metallurgy is to be filled as a permanent employment contract under private law with the Montanuniversität Leoben in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz) with full employment

Description

We are looking for a personality of international scientific standing who represents the subject of foundry technology in research and teaching. The professorship of foundry technology should include in teaching and research at least:

Production technology, casting processes, moulding materials and cast materials and their influence on the properties of cast components, with an emphasis on sustainability. The following points should be covered in research and teaching:

  • The production of metallic components and semi-finished products by means of innovative casting technologies

  • Casting production processes, including their modelling and simulation

  • Development of new casting materials, especially on a recycling basis

In teaching, courses are to be held in German and English in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. In addition to the technological aspects of the production of castings, the solidification of casting materials on the basis of physical-chemical fundamentals is part of the teaching. Supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses as well as dissertations is expected.

Requirements

The requirements for employment are a domestic or equivalent foreign university degree appropriate to the position, a relevant doctorate and a habilitation or a scientific qualification of equal value (e.g. significant research activity in industry with publication activity). Further requirements are the pedagogical and didactic aptitude including new methods in teaching, the qualification as a manager as well as the command of the German and English language. Experience in the acquisition and implementation of funded research projects on a national and international level with scientific and industrial cooperation partners is of great importance.

Residence in the greater Leoben area is desired.

We offer

The classification and remuneration are in accordance with the collective agreement of the universities in the application group A1. In this classification, the monthly salary under the collective agreement for full-time employment is ¤ 5,826.50 gross (14 times per year). In the case of appropriate qualifications, a higher salary is the subject of the appointment negotiations.
