Graduation ceremony with 290 successful graduates

At the graduation ceremony of the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology on October 25, 2024, 290 graduates received their diplomas. Thirty-three Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) and 257 Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) diplomas were awarded. The NextGen Leaders Award went to the project "Cybersecurity in Deep Learning as a Service Models".



The keynote speech by Stephan Keller, President of the HSLU University of Applied Sciences Board, was dedicated to the constant changes of our time: "Ten years ago, the word digital was on everyone’s lips. But which aspects are important, which are particularly influential’ In the meantime, new topics have been added - today we are very much concerned with artificial intelligence. Do better than we did back then: get out there and be brave!"

With their newly acquired specialist knowledge and skills, the graduates are now in the driver’s seat. "Have the courage to actively shape the digital future," said Stephan Keller to the graduates.

Following the speech, the 290 diplomas were presented to the graduates.

NextGen Leader Award
In collaboration with the Digital Veterans Association, a panel of experts awarded the NextGen Leader Award to an outstanding thesis. The award recognizes creative, innovative and socially relevant work that offers not only technical depth but also practical solutions to current challenges.
The award went to Manuel Estermann and Egzon Sadikaj for their work in the field of cybersecurity in Deep Learning as a Service (DLaaS) models. In their work, the authors address the highly topical subject of "Cybersecurity in Deep Learning as a Service models". The outstanding transfer thesis was developed as part of the CAS Cyber Security Defense & Response.
