Federal Council elects Anna Valente to the board of Innosuisse

On 24 January, the Federal Council elected Anna Valente, professor at the Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI), to the board of Innosuisse with effect from 1 February.

Anna Valente will contribute her many years of experience in research and innovation to the Innosuisse board. As Professor of Industrial Robotics, she heads the Laboratory for Automation Robotics and Machines at the SUPSI University of Applied Sciences in Manno (TI). In this role, she works with major research institutions and industrial players. She is very well networked both nationally and internationally. Anna Valente was active as an expert in the evaluation of funding applications at Innosuisse between 2018 and 2023.

The new composition ensures that the close links between science and business and the diversity of Innosuisse’s board are maintained.

Innosuisse promotes science-based innovation in the interests of the economy and society. In accordance with the Innosuisse Act, the Innosuisse board consists of five to seven members drawn from the fields of science and industry. It is responsible for the strategic management of the federal government’s funding agency and is guided by the objectives of the Federal Council.
