At the end of September, 180 graduates of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the School of Life Sciences FHNW received their diplomas. A total of 13 people were honored for their outstanding achievements.
The freshly graduated 180 young life sciences professionals received their Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and Master of Science in Life Sciences and Master of Science in Medical Informatics diplomas on September 29, 2023, in the presence of relatives, guests of honor, including Lukas Engelberger, member of the Basel-Stadt government and President of the Cantonal Health Directors (GDK). It was gratifying to see that 70% of the theses were commissioned by industry and practice partners from Switzerland and around the world. Leading edge and application-wide knowledge in the life sciences
At a time when a new industrial upheaval is emerging, characterized by the diverse challenges and opportunities of machine learning such as high speed computing or quantum computing, here in our region, the life sciences students at the FHNW Campus Muttenz have been given a very application broad knowledge to take with them on their career path.
This year’s graduates carried out their practical training during the pandemic, under exceptional circumstances and in compliance with all necessary safety measures, in a presence that was the positive exception in the national and Europe-wide context. Today, they can take this with them as valuable know-how in their training backpacks.
"We hope that this will give our graduates a valuable asset to take with them on their further professional path, which will give them a head start for the next few years in the job market" underlines Falko Schlottig, Director of the School of Life Sciences FHNW, in his speech at the graduation ceremony.
