New Head of the Institute of Classical and Church Music

Andri Hardmeier will take over as Head of the Institute of Classical and Sacred Music at the Lucerne School of Music on March 1, 2025.

In a challenging, international field of applicants, Andri Hardmeier impressed the search committee with his combination of leadership experience, substantive expertise and network. From his many years as Head of the Music Department at the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, Andri Hardmeier brings with him excellent knowledge of the music profession and the funding landscape and has continuously expanded his contacts with institutions in Switzerland and abroad. University education, further training in cultural management and leadership as well as a career as a dramaturge at renowned festivals in Salzburg and Bayreuth, at the Ruhrtriennale and at major opera houses testify to a broad background of knowledge and interests and a passionate commitment to music and culture.

At present, Andri Hardmeier is involved in various projects as a freelance production dramaturge and works as artistic co-director of the Collegium Novum Zurich. He will take over as Head of the Department of Classical and Sacred Music in the spring semester of 2025.
