This year’s innovation The ten best teams will compete against each other in the final on 17 December.

The innovation Bachelor’s degree students studying mechanical engineering go through a production development process in their third semester. They work through all the steps independently starting with the initial idea through to the construction of a fully functioning product. This year 550 students in 95 teams have been given the same kit with which to build autonomous robots that have to be able to cover a set route. They have four minutes to deliver five gifts down each of eight chimneys. The robots have to carry out these tasks without any external help - in other words, working entirely on their own. You can find out in the video all’about the innovation project’s learning objectives, the amount of work involved and what motivates the students.
