The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts awarded 486 Bachelor’s and 298 Master’s degrees at the Department of Business graduation ceremonies. This year there was also a special highlight: four former graduates from the first graduation ceremony in 1974 - exactly 50 years ago - took part in the ceremony. They were awarded an honorary diploma by their former rector.
A total of 784 graduates of the Lucerne School of Business recently received their diplomas - 486 of them in the Bachelor’s program and 298 in the Master’s program.
This year’s alumni bachelor thesis prizes went to:

- Jasmin Panier from Rümlang in the canton of Zurich, studying Market & Consumer Psychology; with the topic "The influence of gender-inclusive language on brand perception"

Diplomas awarded for the 50th time
A highlight of the event was the awarding of honorary diplomas to three former graduates. In 1974 - exactly 50 years ago - they were the first ever to receive a diploma from the predecessor school of the Lucerne School of Business and Administration (HWV). The honorary diplomas were presented by Christine Böckelmann, Director of the Department of Economics, and Hans Lütolf, then Rector of the HWV.
At the first graduation ceremony in 1974, 24 graduates received their diplomas - 22 men and only two women. At this year’s ceremonies, the proportion of women was around 60 percent.
