Two new members on the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Board

The Concordat Council of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has elected Nina Bachmann and Rahel Estermann as new members of the UAS Board as of 01.01.2024. With them, the strategic supervisory body reflects the key topics and competencies of the university.

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Council (FH Council) is the strategic management body of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and is made up of five to nine representatives from business, science, society and culture. At its meeting on 18.12.2023, the Concordat Council (KR), which represents the six cantons of Central Switzerland, elected two new members to the FH Council: Nina Bachmann and Rahel Estermann.

Nina Bachmann is a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Textiles, the association of the Swiss textile and clothing industry with 240 member companies. In this role, she is responsible for sustainability, technology and research, among other things.

Rahel Estermann is a member of the Lucerne Cantonal Council and has been Secretary General of GRÜNEN Switzerland since 2023. As part of her dissertation, the digital expert spent four years researching big data and its interactions with society.

With their professional experience and expertise, the two new members of the FH Council reflect the focal points and core competencies of the HSLU. The University is delighted with their election and wishes Nina Bachmann and Rahel Estermann every success in their new roles. The Board of Governors also re-elected six existing members of the FH Council, including its President Stephan Keller, for the 2023 - 2027 term of office. Hedy Graber and Sylvia Egli von Matt stepped down from the FH Council on December 31, 2023. They have supported the strategic development of the HSLU for ten years.
