The Medical Faculty of the University of Bern and the University Hospital (Inselspital) in Bern, Switzerland offers a Full Professorship for Neurology The University Hospital of Neurology, the largest neurological hospital in Switzerland, together with the University Hospital of Neurosurgery and the University Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, form the Medical Division Neuro, one of the three most important strategic cornerstones of the Insel Group. The University Department of Neurology provides top-quality neurological care, both nationally and internationally, and treats around 50,000 outpatients and over 3,500 inpatients per year, supporting their treatment with innovative research. It offers an excellently networked platform for experimental systems in physiology, translational, clinical and technical/biotechnological research and is the largest training and further education centre for neurology specialists in Switzerland. | |
RequirementsWe are looking for an innovative and visionary personality who represents the entire specialty of neurology. The prerequisites are experience in management and leadership, complemented by advanced skills in integration and teamwork and interpersonal interactions. The candidate must have an active interest in issues related to gender and diversity. He or she must be an internationally recognised personality with proven expertise in teaching, research and in securing successful third-party funding. Important strategic goals include collaboration between research groups in clinical and basic science, coupled to translational research. Strong communication skills are expected. In addition, the candidate will have a good command of German and English as well as French or be willing to acquire the latter.
